Best Copywriting and Digital Marketing Company in Lincolnshire
Guess what? Hold onto your hats because I’ve got some news that’s still sinking in – That Copy Girl has just clinched the astounding title of “Best Copywriting and Digital Marketing Company in Lincolnshire.” in the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards. Yep, you read that right and trust me, I’m just as floored as you are.
Now, let me pull back the curtain a bit – I didn’t dive into this with an army of experts or a fancy marketing degree. Nope, it all started with me, a trusty laptop, a half-finished cup of coffee, and a burning determination to make a mark. And here we are, with this sweet victory shining like a beacon of unpredictability.
How Do you Become a Freelance Copywriter?
So, here’s the deal – I’m not your typical marketing hotshot. I’m just a wordsmith with a knack for getting lost in Google Analytics. My journey started with a laptop, a dog-eared thesaurus, and a dash of optimism. Who knew my chaotic cocktail of creativity and cluelessness would lead to this wild victory?
Here’s a twist in the tale – before launching into this rollercoaster ride called That Copy Girl, I had already danced through 15 years in the marketing arena. Yeah, 15 years of concocting campaigns, sending countless press releases and chasing the ever-elusive algorithms. But then life threw me a child shaped curveball and back in the day WFH jobs in marketing didn’t really exist.
Time to head back to work still meant finding a career where I could wear 2 hats, mum and worker, so I qualified in Beauty and ran my own business, which was great as it meant I could still keep my love of marketing ticking away, albeit not wholly.
A steady income, choosing my own hours, running my business and being a Mum…. What could possibly go wrong?!
Oh Sh*t!
Enter lockdown – a time that birthed countless banana bread bakers and, well, That Copy Girl. Armed with a laptop, a dash of audacity, and a bucket load of curiosity, I set out to weave words and wade through the vast ocean of digital marketing. Call it a hunch or sheer madness, but I was ready to see where this oddball venture would take me.
Turns out I’m Mystic Meg or some shit ‘cos at the time no one could have predicted the rise in popularity of hiring freelancers. Small companies all of sudden had a wealth of knowledge at their fingertips and finally trusted themselves to operate Zoom – God Zoom quizzes, how were they such a thing?! – Larger companies realised that they could pay a freelancer just the hours they needed for a project rather than having someone sit on their payroll for 40 hours a week. Who knew?
And now, here I stand, equal parts shocked and humbled, sharing the story of this incredible win. The fact that I’m here, sharing the news of this win, is as surprising to me as it is to you. To all my clients who took a chance on That Copy Girl, you’re the real heroes. You believed in my no nonsense approach and tolerated my occasional typos –always entirely caused my keyboard crumbs!
Freelance Copywriter Lincolnshire and Beyond
For all the freelancers out there, the dreamers, and those brave enough to venture into the unknown – let this be a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected paths lead to the most jaw-dropping destinations.
So, cheers to the underdogs, the dream-chasers, and the late-night coffee sippers. Here’s to transforming lockdown musings into the “Best Copywriting and Digital Marketing Company in Lincolnshire.” It’s been an exhilarating ride, and I can’t wait to see where this crazy journey takes That Copy Girl next.
